Job Description
Provide comprehensive mentorship, direct advocacy, and resource coordination for youth and young adults (ages 10–24) and their families across shelter, housing, and community settings. Core responsibilities include delivering crisis management, facilitating trauma-informed healing activities, promoting safety, and serving as a systems-change advocate to support historically marginalized populations.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Advocacy & Mentorship: Offer strength-based support, crisis intervention, and goal-focused mentorship to youth and families who have experienced violence or homelessness.
- Systems Advocacy & Community Outreach: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary partners to drive systems change; engage in outreach and marketing to build awareness of agency and community resources.
- Data & Client Services: Maintain professional client boundaries; manage effective, secure data practices and recordkeeping; uphold client-centered safety and prevention protocols.
Requirements:
- Background Check: Must pass a Minnesota DHS Fingerprint Criminal Background Study as required by program licensing.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, stand, walk extensively, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Candidate Experience:
- Education & Lived Experience: Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent lived or field experience.
- Direct Care & Crisis Work: 2+ years of direct service experience addressing relationship violence, sexual assault, or exploitation, along with community-based crisis response experience.
- Trauma & Systems Advocacy: Background implementing complex trauma interventions and working within youth development frameworks; experience with systems-change initiatives addressing the overrepresentation of marginalized communities in social systems.
