Job Description

Provide direct care support and overnight supervision within a youth residential treatment program. Working under the direction of the Living Unit Supervisor, this role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment that supports youth in achieving their individual treatment goals.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapeutic Direct Care: Deliver care and therapeutic treatment for youth; assist with medication administration according to unit protocols and residential operations.
  • Treatment Plan Support: Partner with interdisciplinary teams to implement individual treatment plans and track resident progress.
  • Nighttime Operations & Safety: Provide overnight coverage, maintain environmental security, and handle potential crisis situations effectively using critical thinking and discernment.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Complete thorough and accurate client progress notes to ensure adherence to state licensing and facility standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Qualifications (Must meet at least ONE):
    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Child/Youth Care, Social Work, or a Behavioral Science field.
    • Minimum 1 year of successful experience in a recognized child welfare setting.
    • Completion of an approved supervised traineeship program.
  • Experience & Credentials: 2–3 years of relevant youth-care experience preferred; valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.
  • Physical & Crisis Skills: Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical demands of the role, including executing therapeutic physical restraints when necessary.
