About Magnolia Creek Peacefully situated on 36 wooded acres with a private lake, walking trails, and recovery gardens, Magnolia Creek offers a serene, home-like environment for women recovering from eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. Our whole-person, evidence-based approach helps clients build lasting recovery in a safe and supportive space.
Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate Primary Family Therapist to provide individual and group therapy for our residents and their families. In this role, you will lead clinical care, guide family dynamics, facilitate group sessions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to drive meaningful healing.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical & Family Management: Manage assigned caseloads; facilitate individual, group, and family mediation/therapy sessions (up to 3 groups per week).
- Treatment Planning & Documentation: Develop tailored treatment plans, maintain EMR charting, complete bi-weekly progress updates, and support ongoing utilization review.
- Milieu Engagement: Participate in community activities, meal/snack supervision, team meetings, and specialized family workshops.
- Continuity of Care: Maintain steady communication with outpatient therapists and families, overseeing comprehensive discharge planning and support network setup.
- Mentorship: Optionally serve as a preceptor for graduate interns based on credentials.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Master’s Degree in Human Services or related mental health field required.
- Licensure: Alabama licensure or actively pursuing licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or PhD).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of family therapy experience preferred; 1 year in an eating disorder recovery setting preferred.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance required.
