Job Description
Deliver tailored, weekly case management services to young individuals seeking stable housing solutions while fostering a safe, welcoming environment at the TYFS Drop-In Center. Operating under the Supportive Services Manager, this position facilitates life skills workshops at Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), conducts proactive community outreach, provides immediate crisis resources, and connects homeless or disenfranchised youth with housing and independent living supports.
Schedule: Full-time (32 hours per week, non-exempt); requires availability for occasional evening shifts and emergency on-call rotations.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Youth Case Management & Drop-In Support: Deliver weekly individual case management to guide youth toward housing stability; provide hands-on support, resource navigation, and crisis guidance at the Drop-In Center.
- Life Skills Facilitation: Plan, organize, and lead life skills workshops within LTUSD schools to prepare youth for independent living.
- Outreach & Community Engagement: Attend community events, network with social service agencies and schools, and conduct targeted outreach to raise program awareness among disenfranchised youth.
- Administrative & Emergency Readiness: Maintain organized client documentation and multi-task program priorities; participate in an emergency on-call rotation as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth/young adults in a community setting, social agency, school, or non-traditional educational environment.
- Target Population Expertise: Proven ability to engage effectively with hard-to-reach, homeless, or disenfranchised youth within a multi-disciplinary framework.
- Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle, an active driver's license, and a clean driving record.
- Flexibility & On-Call: Willingness to work select evening hours and maintain availability for emergency on-call needs.
