Job Description

We’re looking for a Patient Registration Coordinator who can serve as the welcoming face of BHG. With us, you’ll play a critical role in serving patients throughout their recovery journey by being the first face they see, ensuring successful patient processing, and verifying patient eligibility. Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Care: Be the first friendly face patients see. Register new and returning patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and clearly explain benefits and payment expectations with empathy.
  • Manage Transactions: Collect patient payments (copays, deductibles, coinsurance) and accurately process daily financial transactions.
  • Support Operations: Answer incoming calls, build positive relationships while protecting patient privacy, and assist with filing, data entry, census reporting, and caseload tracking.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain financial records, process third-party reimbursements (including Medicaid), coordinate supply orders, and perform errands like mail delivery and bank deposits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience as a general office clerk with basic math, accounting skills, and cash handling experience.
  • 1+ year of experience running insurance eligibility and billing collections.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in front desk, admissions, billing, and/or collections.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Accurate data entry and ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to enforce fee collection policies and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced clinical environment with periods of increased activity.
  • Exposure to patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and criminal justice involvement.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping (alternating between sitting and standing).
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (PPE required when applicable).
