Position Overview

The Therapist leads collaboration within an interdisciplinary care team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate comprehensive direct social services for assigned patients and their support systems. Working across acute care settings—including Inpatient, Residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care—the Therapist utilizes evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, Exposure Therapy, and Family Therapy) to promote stabilization, self-insight, and long-term recovery.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care & Therapy Facilitation:
    • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to patient-specific needs and recovery goals.
    • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and diagnostic profiles.
    • Provide in-the-moment coaching and crisis support within the therapeutic milieu.
  • Treatment Planning & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
    • Formulate individualized treatment plans and lead multidisciplinary treatment team meetings alongside psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers.
    • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding mental health conditions, coping mechanisms, self-care, and aftercare planning.
    • Report and document any suspected physical/sexual abuse or neglect in compliance with state laws and system policies.
  • Documentation & Regulatory Compliance:
    • Maintain complete, timely clinical progress notes and documentation in accordance with system standards.
    • Adhere to Joint Commission, state regulatory mandates, and professional ethical guidelines.
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, committee work, and clinical development projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related clinical field from an accredited university.
  • Licensure:
    • Required: Active state license or in-training license (e.g., LPC-IT, APSW, MFT-TL, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or state equivalent).
    • Substance Use Credentialing: SAC-IT, SAC, CSAC, or applicable state substance use authorization required if assigned to a addiction/substance use program.
  • Certifications & Mandated Trainings:
    • American Heart Association CPR Certification (within 30 days of hire).
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training (within 60 days of hire).
    • Compliance with RCC/CBRF regulations (for Residential programs).
    • Active, valid driver’s license in good standing (required for Residential levels of care).
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Clinical experience in a psychiatric, acute healthcare, or residential behavioral health setting.
    • Applied working knowledge of CBT, DBT, and developmental human behavior across diverse age groups.
