Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Maintenance Technician carries out routine facility inspections,responds to work orders, and performs preventive maintenance and repairs across building systems. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues while maintaining accurate work logs and ensuring compliance with hospital safety standards.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs on facility equipment, machinery, and building units.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues throughout the hospital.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure structural safety, functional integrity, and regulatory readiness.
- Execute general carpentry, drywall, painting, woodwork, and facility upkeep tasks as assigned.
- Respond promptly to facility work orders and maintain complete records of maintenance activities.
- Participate in the required weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation to maintain 24/7 plant operational support.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience Level: Entry Level (High School Diploma/GED required + 1–3 years healthcare/facility maintenance experience).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; formal vocational education in a related trade/technical field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of maintenance experience in a healthcare or similar commercial setting required.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical repair, carpentry,drywall, painting, and general plant operations.
- Driving Record: Must possess a clean driving record meeting hospital standards (minimum of 3 years with zero at-fault accidents or moving violations).
