Job Description
Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support across integrated behavioral health, medical, and dental clinics. Working in collaboration with office leadership and support teams, this role handles front-desk reception, appointment scheduling, patient demographic updates, financial assessments, insurance verifications, and general office/vehicle maintenance to ensure a smooth, client-centered care environment.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Intake & Financial Processing: Meet with clients to perform initial and annual financial reviews; verify insurance coverage; determine client fee responsibilities; manage insurance authorizations; and establish payment agreements for past-due balances according to center policy.
- Reception & Scheduling: Manage appointment scheduling; deliver responsive customer service; update demographic and financial data in the electronic health record (EHR); and scan clinical documents into electronic charts.
- Clinic Operations & Administrative Support: Assist with office equipment and vehicle maintenance; maintain supply inventories and preassembled intake packets; compile EHR reports; handle correspondence; transport clients as assigned; and support special administrative projects.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensing: Valid Texas driver’s license with an approved driving record maintained throughout employment.
- Language: Must be fluent in English.
- Core Competencies: Ability to navigate EHR systems and data entry; strong organizational skills; ability to follow oral/written instructions; composure in fast-paced, crisis-oriented environments; strong team collaboration across multidisciplinary units.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior front-desk or administrative experience in a person-centered medical clinic, hospital, or Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) setting.
- Hands-on experience conducting financial assessments and working with commercial/government insurance verification processes.
