Position Summary
The Corporate Director of Admissions and Payor Relations leads the overall strategic oversight and daily operations of the admissions call center, intake, verification of benefits (VOB), utilization review (UR), and financial clearance across all Caron programs. This senior role optimizes workflows, call center KPIs, and CRM technologies while ensuring seamless patient access, regulatory compliance (CARF, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2), and revenue integrity.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct admissions call center operations, workforce management, telephony/Salesforce CRM technology, quality assurance scorecards, and after-hours coverage.
- Oversee intake, screening, bed management, and ASAM-aligned clinical placements from initial inquiry through program admission.
- Serve as executive subject matter expert for VOB and financial clearance processes, including No Surprises Act compliance, Good Faith Estimates, and patient responsibility communication.
- Manage the utilization review function, monitoring pre-certifications, concurrent reviews, peer-to-peer discussions,appeals, and denial management.
- Monitor financial aid allocations and department budgets, collaborating closely with business development and revenue cycle management.
- Track and report departmental KPIs (call conversion, census trends, authorization approval rates, average speed of answer) to executive leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience Level: Senior Level (5+ years of progressive leadership and SUD/chemical dependency experience).
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (Required).
- Master's degree in a related field (Preferred).
- Experience:
- 5+ years in healthcare call center, patient access, intake, or admissions with direct operational oversight (Required).
- 3+ years hands-on experience performing/overseeing VOB, pre-authorization, and financial clearance for behavioral health (Required).
- 3+ years in utilization review management, concurrent review, denial management, and appeals (Required).
- 3+ years of direct supervisory/management experience (Required).
- Certification/Licensure:
- Licensed behavioral health professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CAADC, CADC) or CHAM/UR certification (Preferred).
- CAAP certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Key Skills: Expert knowledge of ASAM Criteria, VOB, UR medical necessity, call center technologies (ACD,Salesforce CRM), workforce management metrics, 42 CFR Part 2/HIPAA compliance, and financial/data analysis.
