Job Description
Support daily outpatient clinical operations by facilitating patient flow, managing medication communications, and providing direct patient care support within a mental health environment. In addition to core medical assistant duties, this role will be trained to serve as a back-up Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care & Patient Flow: Room patients, record baseline vital signs, document patient histories and allergies in the EHR, and alert providers to abnormal readings; cross-train and deliver back-up TMS treatments as needed.
- Medication & Pharmacy Coordination: Triage medication-line calls and forward details to nursing staff; process refill authorizations to pharmacies; complete drug prior authorizations; prepare and document sample distribution.
- Medical Records & Compliance: Review charts for required documentation, update Release of Information (ROI) forms, and maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and universal safety precautions.
Requirements:
- Education & Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant Certification OR completion of an accredited 1-year Medical Assistant program required.
- Licensing & Travel: Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance required.
- Clearances: Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and alcohol screening.
- Experience & Skills: Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) data entry; prior mental health and medication management experience preferred.
