Job Description

Provide direct psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery-oriented services, and community advocacy for adult clients. Working under the administrative supervision of a Team Leader or Program Director, this position assists clients in achieving their personal goals, provides field-based medication outreach, delivers on-the-spot supportive counseling, and assists with housing and transportation needs using a consumer-driven, harm-reduction approach.

Part-Time Shift Options Available:

  • Option 1: Mon/Tue (2:30 PM – 9:00 PM) & Sat/Sun (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM) [24 hrs/wk]
  • Option 2: Wed/Thu (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM) & Fri/Sat/Sun (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
  • Option 3: Sat/Sun (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM) & Mon/Tue (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Goal Support & Advocacy: Assist clients in identifying and progressing toward personal recovery goals in alignment with individual service plans; conduct home, job-site, and community visits.
  • Medication Outreach: Provide prepackaged medications prepared by the pharmacy; verify client identity, dosages, and administration times; empower clients in medication management; document adherence or refusal.
  • On-the-Spot Counseling & Crisis Response: Offer supportive counseling grounded in consumer-driven and harm-reduction principles; perform initial crisis intervention strategies; report changes in symptoms to doctors and care teams.
  • Field Visits & Documentation: Transport clients to appointments or activities in the field; maintain thorough, timely client records; meet agency productivity and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required (Associate of Arts degree preferred); minimum 2 years of full-time equivalent direct care experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Licensure & Travel: Active California driver’s license, current vehicle registration/insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle (capable of passing a safety inspection if over 5 years old; two-wheeled transport excluded).
  • Certifications: Certificate of completion from Core Skills Training required upon hire.
  • Core Competencies: Understanding of community mental health, self-help, and harm-reduction models; strong crisis intervention, adaptability, and field-based communication skills.
